Aloha and Anniversaries

So at this time tomorrow I'll be flying the friendly skies on my way to Hawaii.  And by flying the friendly skies to Hawaii I mean forced into a deep sleep by my old friend NyQuil in order to avoid the panic attack I tend to get when stuck in a confined space with other people who I can't control.  I feel like the 11ish hour flight there won't be so bad (it's direct and you know I love me an airplane TV), but the ride back I anticipate being a little rough.  You can put up with anything when you're looking forward to the destination, but once the vacation is over I fear I'm going to go all Bon Qui Qui on everyone's ass.  In case you don't know Bon Qui Qui, check out this clip.

Anytime someone in my family does something the other doesn't like (which is all the time), we immediately yell out, "Secerity, Secerity".  If you haven't watched the video yet you have zero idea what I'm talking about.

Because the reason we get to go on the trip is so that H can finish up work on a project, he'll be stuck working a good amount of time.  That means I'll be on my own quite a bit during the day.  I wish he didn't have to work so much (although he's being such a good sport about it), but the upside is that I have the ability to flip a switch in my personality to become one of those people you see on the news every so often who are lifted from their house with a crane because they sat in front of their TV and ate until they literally become one with the couch.  It's a unique ability, but I think it will come in handy for the sitting by the pool with nothing but a People Magazine and my thoughts for the hours on end situation I have before me.  It's a skill I've honed over the years and at this point in my life I'm a near expert.

Hopefully I won't have trouble keeping up with everyone's blogs there or posting, but I probably won't be around as much as normal until the 15th when we return.  I know, I know, how ever will you go on.  Dry your tears ladies...I'll be back.  I'm going to try to just relax and put all things baby and work out of my mind as much as possible.

Having said that, the adoption agency is supposed to meet with the potential birth mother that they called about a couple of weeks ago.  The meeting should be taking place on the 8th of November, so I suspect we'll get a call or e-mail at some point during the trip letting us know how that went.  The most they will tell us is that she has narrowed down her choice and wants to meet with us (or not), so I feel like hearing from them while on vacation won't be a big interruption or anything.  She isn't due for four months and I know they like the parents to wait until a little closer to time to make their decision so our trip should be relatively life changing news free...which I'm kinda thankful for.

Our departure on this much needed vacation also happens to fall on my one year anniversary of blogging.  One year...is that all?  I guess it feels like so much longer because it felt like so much had already happened at that point infertility wise.  Plus, up until then I had logged some quality blog stalker hours before finally taking the plunge and starting one of my own.  Starting this blog was like beginning with a new therapist for me (only way more beneficial and way less expensive).  That's all because of you guys and I can't thank you enough.

Catch ya all on the flip!

Oh yeah, any of you ladies who feel like you might have the urge to give birth while I'm gone should just cross your legs real hard until I get back ok.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

You always broaden my horizons in such amazing ways. Bon Qui Qui. Nice.

Oh and I too have that same couch potato ability so when you decide its time to let your skin grow into the couch, for shiz let me know, we'll do it together.

Man, sitting by the pool with a People magazine (and a drink - don't forget the drink!) sounds absolutely amazing.

Can't wait to hear about the birth mother's decision...and you're right, you've gone through a shitload fertility wise in the past year - it definitely feels like you've been blogging for longer!

Have a wonderful time on your trip! I'm not a fan of flying either, which means I'll probably never make it to Hawaii in my lifetime, so I look forward to seeing your pictures. I hope you get good news from the adoption agency while you are away too!
